SRK rocks with Alia, Salman mollifies lensmen
Shah Rukh Khan took to the stage for his energetic dhamaka act soon after the technical awards were announced. The actor and his partner Alia Bhatt were the first ones to perform for the evening. Agar aaghaz aisa hai, to anjaam-e-gulistan kya hoga!

Pulkit Samrat arrived sans his Sanam Re teammate Yami Gautam, who also happens to be his current sanam. Did Yami again want to avoid Sallu? Remember she did the same by skipping Bigg Boss 9. The Fukrey actor is looking dapper in the combination he has chosen for the evening. Soon after came Anil Jhakaas Kapoor. He seemed in extremely high spirits, we mean energy-wise.

There was also Rana Dagubatti and Kajal Agarwal (in an extremely revealing outfit). Hmmm... anything to get tongues wagging. Jacqueline Fernandez also entered the venue in quick succession and she seemed to have stolen the show in her sizzling outfit.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali arrived, beaming like he knows the night belongs to Bajirao Mastani, his labour of love. Soon he had a reason to smile. His film won the award for the Best Choregraphy. Pandit Birju Maharaj won it for Mohe rang do laal. The award was presented by Bajirao himself, the reel Ranveer Singh did the honours! And a proud Bhansali took it on the maestro's behalf.

SRK was at the podium when Ranveer stepped on stage. The two did a Malhari act together, just a few steps, but that was enough to send the crowd roaring. This when we know that they were competing at the box office in Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani respectively.

A few minutes later, Varun Dhawan joined Ranveer to shake a leg with him.

Zarine Khan made a silent entry, while Madhuri Dixit Nene stepped into her car in Andheri at that very moment to head to the award event. We're on our toes for you guys!

Mika Singh, after rehearsing for hours on end for the whole day, made time to get home, deck up and head right back to the venue. He looks like his Twitter handle: King Mika Singh.

Meanwhile, Manu Anand won the award for the Best Cinematography for Dum Lagake Haisha. We haven't seen Haridwar look that gorgeous before, have we?

Shyam Kaushal took home the fourth trophy for Bajirao Mastani, for the Best Action this time.

Best Background Score was awarded to Piku. Anupam Roy was excited to pick this one up!

And then, came the shocker! Best VFX went to Bombay Velvet. Prana Studio representatives and Anurag Kashyap fell off their chairs, obviously no one expected this googly! Ditto happened to us. Some awards just don't stop shocking us!

Back to the red carpet. Deepika Padukone met her Piku co-star  Amitabh Bachchan warmly while Big B's daughter Shweta looked on.

Salman Khan finally hit the red carpet and intermingled with the shutterbugs. Was he mollifying them for his past skirmishes with them?

We'll be right back! Watch this space for more!
